Now this is my easy quick chicken or beef french onion shepards pie. This is for 4 average pies.
Ingredients: 4 x vol-u-vont cases average pie siz
1/2 a chicken breast or 500g beef any cut you like as it is broken up.
1 x packet of french onion of either gravy or soup style I have found the results similar.
2 x average potatoes dash cooking oil
Prepare the gravy as per packet however only use 1/2 the water required as you want a thick gravy.
Dice the meat up then place in hot frypan with the prepared gravy and bring to boil then simmer with lid on till meat falls apart 40 mins approx. Then using your potato masher mash up the mixture in the frypan.
Peel and dice potatoes then boil till ready mash add salt and pepper to taste
Place the 4 cases on a baking tray add meat and gravy the spoon mashed potato on top like a hill. For an added flavour spread some grated pizza cheese on top.
Preheat oven to 160c and place tray with pies into the oven, now you are not really cooking meat you are now only browning potato and cheese leave in oven for approx 30 mins checking after 20 mins brown to desired colour.
